The New “Back Nine” at Tanna Farms Golf Course

September 23, 2007

Today was a gorgeous day here in Geneva. I spent some time looking around in the Tanna Neighborhood of Mill Creek and specifically at the new Tanna Farms “back nine.”

The course was seeded in the spring and has been getting established all summer. Well, it’s definitely established now and it looks great. They also had flags on the greens today, so it looks like it is playable, but no one was playing it. I believe the plan is to open next spring.

According to their web site, the routing of the course will be the same for holes 1-7. Hole # 8 will go north from hole # 7 towards Keslinger Road then loop back towards the clubhouse, finishing on the existing holes #8 and #9 for a complete 18 coming into the clubhouse. The new golf holes include three par 3′s, two par 5′s and four 4′s. Par for the course will be 71 and the total yardage will be 6550 yards.

With the current nine voted as the 2007 Best Golf Course in the Fox Valley by the Kane County Readers Choice Awards, it looks like the new back nine will be an exciting addition for area golfers.
