Sheriff Announces Changes in Kane County Community Policing, New Neighborhood Watch Newsletter Published
May 8, 2010
I received the following information recently from the Kane County Sheriff’s office. Please read the introductory comments and then review the first edition of the Sheriff’s new Neighborhood Watch Newsletter. Be sure to scroll all the way down to page 4 for valuable information about “Gypsy” scams, including residential burglary attempts while people are home or working in the yard. Keep your doors locked at all times.
Text of the note I received and the newsletter are reproduced below.
For those who do not know me, I am Lt. Kevin Williams and I am taking over all of Kane County Community Policing areas.
I have attached our first newsletter. Due to the decrease in staffing, there is only two of us in this division. With over 50 neighborhood watches, 16 townships and several villages, it is next to impossible for us to make all the meetings.
On the months this newsletter does not come out, we will have Block Captain meetings here at the Sheriff’s Office. Our first will hopefully be June 2010. Due to the several changes and decreased staffing, I have had several Neighborhood Watch emails transferred to me and I am sure some may be duplicated or missing. Please contact your neighbors and we will update!
So, if you are a Block Captain or a Coordinator, please send me an email confirming you are interested in attending these meetings!
Since I am the one that is putting this Newsletter together, please bear with me! If you have suggestions about the newsletter, I will not be offended! Send them to me.
Good Reading to all!
