Frasz Announces Wayside Horn Demonstration

I got the following note from Drew Frasz today regarding his train whistle noise abatement efforts.
“I am having a demonstration of the wayside horn system on Sat. Feb. 27th at 9:00 AM at the LaFox Road railroad crossing just north of Keslinger Rd. A rep. from the manufacturer will use a portable demo unit so we can see the noise difference. There will be enough time if people want to hear it up close as well as from their homes. If anyone has any questions my cell is 630-514-2153.”
The wayside horn system is designed to target the warning to vehicles at the crossing, allowing trains to proceed without sounding their horns, dramatically reducing or eliminating noise levels away from the crossing.
