The Millcreek City Council will ask residents to weigh in on a proposed $200,000 contribution to the Asian Association of Utah at a public hearing August 10, at Millcreek City Hall.

That's up from the $110,000 the council approved for the organization in August 2025, according to public meeting records. A second hearing the same night will consider a $5,000 contribution for the Millcreek City 9/11 Day of Service.

Both hearings begin at approximately 7 p.m. at City Hall, 1330 E. Chambers Ave. The notice, published July 22, cites Utah Code Ann. Section 10-2-8 as the legal basis for the hearings.

Supporting documents for both appropriations are available for review at City Hall during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Zoning decisions on deck for July 27

Before those hearings, the council meets July 27, for a work session at 5 p.m. and a regular meeting at 7 p.m. City Recorder Elyse Sullivan certified and posted the agenda July 22.

The regular meeting includes votes on four ordinances:

• Ordinance 26-51: Amending the Olympus Hills West Village Center Special District zone at 3962 S. Wasatch Blvd.
• Ordinance 26-53: Rezoning 1312 E. 3300 South from Commercial to City Center Overlay – Development Agreement zone.
• Ordinance 26-54: Approving a development agreement for a residential mixed-use project on approximately 1.75 acres at 1312 E. 3300 South.
• Ordinance 26-52: Technical corrections to Title 18 of the Millcreek Municipal Code.

The work session will introduce first readings of two rezone requests: ZM-26-003, which would change 4244 S. State Street from Manufacturing to Mixed Development, and ZM-26-009, which would shift parcels at 1059 E. 3950 South and 1100 E. 3946 South from R-2-8 and Residential Mixed zones to Commercial.

The council will also convene as the Community Reinvestment Agency to consider Resolution 26-06, amending the interlocal agreement with Salt Lake County for the Woodland Avenue Community Reinvestment Area.
