Millcreek residents can weigh in on planning and zoning issues at an open house Tuesday, Sept. 1, the first of five public meetings the city has scheduled for September.

The open house runs from 5 to 6 p.m. at Millcreek City Hall, 1330 East Chambers Ave. No formal agenda had been posted as of Aug. 31, according to the city's online calendar. Residents can call City Hall at 801-214-2700 for details.

Four more public meetings follow

The Millcreek Historic Preservation Commission meets Thursday, Sept. 10, at 6 p.m. in the second-floor Community Forum at City Hall.

The Millcreek City Council meets twice: Monday, Sept. 14, and Monday, Sept. 28, both at 7 p.m. in the Community Forum. Agendas for both sessions had not been posted as of Aug. 31.

The Millcreek Planning Commission meets Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 5 p.m. in the Community Forum. Two cases are already on the docket, according to the city's upcoming planning applications page: a text amendment (ZT-26-002) and a conditional use permit application for a property at 650 W 4100 S (CUP-26-007). Planning Commission meetings are live-streamed on the city website, and recordings of past meetings are available there as well.

The city also posted a slate of September community events at Millcreek Common, according to a post on the city's official X account:

• Local Love: Thursday, Sept. 10, 5–8 p.m.
• Utah Flamenco Summer Fest: Saturday, Sept. 12, 5–10 p.m.
• International Softball Showdown: Saturday, Sept. 12, 9 a.m.–9 p.m., and Sunday, Sept. 13, 9 a.m.–6 p.m., at the Larry H. Miller Softball Complex
• Mi Gente (Latin and Hispanic Heritage celebration): Saturday, Sept. 26, 5–10 p.m.
