A low-impact exercise program at the Millcreek Community Center runs through Dec. 17, targeting strength, flexibility and balance for adults with or without arthritis.

The Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program (AFEP) began Oct. 27, according to a listing on the Millcreek Journal events page. The class uses low-impact movements to improve strength, flexibility, balance and endurance. It was created for people with arthritis, but the listing says everyone is welcome.

The Arthritis Foundation describes AFEP as a community-based, recreational exercise program led by trained instructors. Sessions cover range-of-motion exercises, endurance-building activities, relaxation techniques and health education topics, according to the foundation's program page. All exercises can be modified to fit individual ability levels.

The Millcreek listing does not specify class days, times or cost. Residents should contact the Millcreek Community Center for scheduling and registration details.

Separately, a Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention class appeared on the Oct. 28 calendar at the Millcreek Community Center, according to a Draper Journal calendar listing. That single listing showed the class as free for adults 60 and older. Check with the center for future dates.
