Students who finished their coursework outside the traditional school year will cross the stage Tuesday, Aug. 4, as Granite School District holds its summer graduation ceremony with a live stream starting at 3:30 p.m.

The ceremony is a chance for Millcreek-area families to celebrate graduates who completed requirements on a different timeline than the spring Class of 2026. For those who can't be there in person, the district is streaming the event live at graniteschools.org, the same platform it uses for board meetings and other major events.

The district also streams ceremonies on its YouTube channel at youtube.com/user/GraniteSchools, consistent with how individual campuses have handled their own graduations. Granger High School, for instance, streamed its spring commencement on YouTube earlier this year.

The summer graduation is separate from those spring ceremonies held at each high school. The district has not announced how many students are graduating Tuesday or which schools they represent.

What families need to know

The stream goes live at 3:30 p.m. Families should visit graniteschools.org ahead of time to find the video link. The district has not specified whether the stream will remain available as a recording afterward.

School year just days away

For families with younger students or incoming freshmen, the graduation lands just eight days before the start of the 2026-27 school year. As we reported July 29, classes begin Wednesday, Aug. 12, for most Granite School District students. Kindergartners start Monday, Aug. 17.

Skyline High School, which serves much of the Millcreek area, has freshmen orientation and the first day of school both set for Wednesday, Aug. 12, with orientation at 7:30 a.m. and classes for 10th through 12th graders beginning at 9:30 a.m.

The summer graduation stream begins at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at graniteschools.org. The next regular school board meeting date has not been announced.
