Millcreek families have two weeks to get ready for the new school year. Granite School District classes begin Wednesday, August 12, for elementary, junior high, and high school students, according to the district's official calendar. Kindergartners start the following Monday, August 17.

First step: re-enrollment. Online re-enrollment for the 2026-27 school year opens Friday, July 31, through the district's Focus Parent Portal, according to the Granite School District registration page.

The district advises parents to log in to their Focus Parent Portal account before Friday to confirm they can access it. One important detail: use your own parent account, not your student's. If you've forgotten your password, reset it rather than creating a new account, which the district says can cause processing delays. Wasatch Junior High gets new principal, hosts Back to School Night

For families in the Wasatch Junior High attendance area, the first milestone arrives before classes start. The school hosts Back to School Night on Monday, August 10, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at 3750 South 3100 East, as we reported July 28. No agenda has been released.

Families will meet a new face at the helm. Jake Brown took over as principal of Wasatch Junior High effective Wednesday, July 8, after transferring from Bonneville Junior High, according to the Granite School District board report from July 7. He replaces Mary Basso, who moved to an assistant principal role at Granger High School.

The Wasatch Junior High main office is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to noon during summer hours, and can be reached at 385-646-5244.
