Skyline's boys golf team holds the Region 6 lead at a 290.1 stroke average, nearly four strokes ahead of second-place Brighton heading into the region championship Tuesday, Sept. 29.

Perry Shaffer and Marcus Davis-Condie powered the Eagles at the Wednesday, Sept. 23, region tournament at Mountain View Golf Course in West Jordan. Shaffer fired a 68 to finish second in the field. Davis-Condie shot a 69, tying for third with Olympus' Josh Neff. George Irvine added a 73 for Skyline.

Viewmont's Corver Barnes took medalist honors with a 67.

Shaffer now leads Region 6 individually at a 70.9 stroke average, one-tenth of a stroke ahead of Olympus sophomore Wyatt Biagi, who carried a 71.0 average through eight weeks of play, according to the Deseret News region recap. As recently as Week 7, Biagi held the top individual spot at 71.2. Shaffer has since overtaken him.

Davis-Condie sits fourth in the region at 71.7. Bodie Green, Skyline's third scorer, carries a 73.6 average. The Eagles place three golfers averaging under 74 strokes in region play.

Skyline won the 5A state championship in 2025, the program's second consecutive title. The Eagles will look to defend that crown after the region season wraps up. The 5A state tournament is expected in early October, though the UHSAA has not published the exact date.

The Region 6 Championship tees off at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, at Rose Park Golf Course in Salt Lake City, according to MaxPreps.
