Drivers on 3300 South near Terrace View Drive should expect overnight lane closures and construction noise as Enbridge Gas conducts pipeline replacement work in the area.

The City of Millcreek posted an advisory July 17, announcing that night work began July 19, with crews operating from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Only one eastbound lane on 3300 South remains open during construction hours, and the city warned of delays for drivers passing through.

Residents living near the intersection can also expect noise, dust and bright construction lighting overnight.

Part of a larger pipeline project

The night work is part of Enbridge Gas's Feeder Line 46 Replacement Project, a months-long effort to replace a section of the natural gas system running through Millcreek. The project route stretches along Wasatch Boulevard from approximately 4500 South to Upland Drive, then continues under I-215 north to 3300 South, following Virginia Way, Millcreek Canyon Road, Plaza Way, Cummings Drive and Terrace Drive before ending near 2700 East and 3300 South.

Construction began in early 2026 and is scheduled to continue into late fall or winter 2026, according to the Enbridge project page. Canyon Pipeline, a Phoenix-based contractor, is performing the work.

Enbridge says the replacement is needed to meet growing natural gas demand in the Millcreek and Wasatch Front areas. Feeder lines are larger steel pipelines that deliver gas to smaller distribution mains serving homes and businesses. No interruptions to natural gas service are expected during the project.

What residents should know

A July 10 update on the Enbridge project page noted crews were already working on 3300 South between 2900 East and 3200 East, with no left-hand turns allowed in that stretch. Work on Terrace View Drive began that same day and is progressing along Terrace to Cummings Drive, then onto Plaza Way.

The city's advisory did not specify an end date for the overnight work phase, and the Enbridge project page does not list a completion date for this segment. Enbridge says it will follow all county noise-reduction ordinances during nighttime and weekend construction.
